I honestly think that, in general, the days of selling what we photographers would call "prints" are over. Most people aren't able to see the value of such an item. They're fine with a cheap poster that looks almost the same.
In order to sell, your product has to be different, either in vision or physical manifestation, from what other people are offering.
Right now there are over 14,000 photographic offerings on eBay alone that are direct from the artist. There are 13,000 that have actually sold, but that's since September. That may seem like a lot, until you see the prices people are getting, and what's selling, which is mostly snapshots (for a penny) and polaroid softcore porn (sorry, nudes) for a couple of bucks.
If you limit it to photographic work that's sold for over $100, then you get 71 sold listings for the same time period. That ain't much, and most of those are Craig Bill and Dermot O'Kane.
