Toby, the bugs are often not positioned in places bright enough to allow natural light to be all that is required. Many of them are hidden under leaves or buried between branches where it is quite dark and lacks sufficient light. Many of them are found in dense shrubs, hiding from the direct sunlight also. Have done some butterflies, dragonflies and mantids in natural light but with the minute bugs, it is not such an easy task & could end up as an exercise in futility. Ishrani
