What is a good, not too expensive data recovery program for the MAC? Have used several on the PC, but not sure what is the best bang for the buck on MAC.

Um... Hi

For computer backup - Superduper.
For data recovery of connected drives and media - Ontrack EasyRecovery 10.

I once had a PC boot disk that had all the data on it wiped clean somehow, hooked it up as an external drive to my Mac, and Ontrack recovered everything. Superduper is a popular solution among Mac users, but I haven't had any data loss (knock on wood), so I personally can't say how effective it is.

I acquired an expensive camera so I can hang out in forums, annoy wedding photographers during formals and look down on P&S users... all the while telling people it's the photographer, not the camera.

Very effective. Every night (on schedule) SuperDuper starts up, and does an incremental backup of my system drive to a second drive. Once done, it repairs permissions, and goes back to sleep. When I get up, I have a fresh, backed up, bootable copy of my system drive. Once that's done, Time Machine starts up and backs up the system/data to another drive.

Works for me.

Je n'avais pas besoin de cette hypothèse-là.

I've never used it, but it comes recommended.
