After reading this thread yesterday, I actually went out and tried "birding" today. Its alot tougher than one might imagine, especially this time of year. I saw very few birds, and the ones I did see, the reach of my Powershot Pro1's lens just wasnt enough to make the shot worthwhile.

I almost died too when not one, but TWO BALD EAGLES flew directly overhead. :( I tried panning to catch one, but ended up with a bunch of branches in focus, and just the silhouette of the bird past that. I looked up over the river I was near, saw a big black bird with a nice, bright white head and kind of said "no, it couldnt be." It flew over, and not 20 feet behind it was another one, they have a nest downriver on a protected island, I know where I'll be spending more time. :P

The Anhinga trail at Everglades National Park. I never knew that their eyes were this color! Used my Rebel 2000 shooting slides. The second is by my wife with the Fuji P&S capturing the capture!

I don't know that I have a favorite bird, but I sure love looking at those Kingfisher shots that Romy lets us see. My favorite photo though is easy to pick.

I'm a friend to all birds. Anything that I can get close enough to photograph is my favorite.

We had a blast shooting the Great Gray Owls near Montreal 2 winters ago.

I've since moved and have found lots of wildlife and birds in the Rocky Mountains

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.

Everyone's photographs are just incredible! How amazing.

Personally, I can't name every bird that I have seen here. :-(
