Like the title says, anyone know what this is and how it works?

If I add a lens to my wish list do I get advanced notification when it comes in stock, email notification, does it get added to my cart automatically, or is it simply a list for me?

I am unable to find any information on the canon direct site.

Thanks in advance for replies.

I think it's just a list you can use to list the items you would like to buy in the (near) future. Nothing more to it..

That sucks, I have no problem remembering what lens I want; I do however have problems finding it in stock.

Do you know if there is a way to be notified when items come into stock?

Do you wish to buy only at the Canon store?

What lens are you after?

I'm after the 16-35. It's just over $1100 there. Best price new that I have found was almost $1500.

Prettly much just after the $1100 price so I can get all (or at least most) of my money back if I ever decide to sell.

I'd recommend CanonPriceWatch's notification system. They e-mail you when things go in-stock or when sales start. That's how I was able to snag all my refurbs.

Go to their 16-35 page, click the 'Notify' button, and put in your e-mail address:

I have been checking inventory a few times a day for the past few days and still no luck. Is it common for them to put a lens on sale and then have no inventory of the lens for the entire sale?

Yup. The most sought-after lenses sometimes are only in-stock the first hour of a sale, or sometimes never...

Usually, you give other people access to your wishlist so they know what to buy you. I've got a long wishlist on Amazon. :)

Unfortunately, I don't have rich relatives. ;)

I wonder if the video editors on The Titanic ever went, "Sorry, I can't right now. I'm busy synching the Titanic..."
