Having learned about cell phones I tried a quick, low whistle out the window. It got his attention and he looked right at me.

I thought you probably had an app on your phone to sound like the coyote! Funny how we interpret things differently. *Sandy* "If we all had positive attitudes...we could change the world"

As a matter of fact, I do have an app like that on my phone and have used it several times. Audubon app. We have the Pacific NW version on our iPhones. The best $10 I've spent. It allows you to play the sounds of many of the animals/birds which has helped us ID as well as subtly get the attention of critters. http://www.audubonguides.com/index.html Dave

Primitive yes, but I'd rather put my money into my hobby! (Including sales tax, I spend $107 dollars a year for my cell phone service!) *Sandy* "If we all had positive attitudes...we could change the world"

I just broke down and upgraded to a smart phone for the wife and me. The kids have been encouraging us to do it for a while now and now that we have we really like them. The Audubon app was the first one we loaded and we end up using it all the time in the field. But even with a family plan they aren't cheap. Dave
