C&C welcome of course.
A FTP shoot I had done for a model. 22" BD above and a large softbox below using the old second hand interfit ex150s I got for £70 off Ebay ha.

Learnt a few things: Post processing takes a very long time when done the dodge/burn way and with many extras such as hair root colouring.

hmmm I have to do a headshot for a "professional"(dr tamara lol...) this wednesday.. I was caught off guard, while I am trying to become a professional tog, I am not super confident in my skills as of yet.. Any tips you can give me ? I didn't exactly ask for this, but I certainly can't turn it down right! hah I have two umbrellas(silver reflector and a white and gold ) a reflector dish, a yn560ii speed light, a alien bee b800, and two j150(150ws generic deals with minimal settings) 3 stands and a backdrop stand. I have EXTREMELY limited use with this setup, I just picked it up on saturday because I knew I would have this shoot wednesday... I am a bit intimidated, being on someone elses time and all.. and that my product must come out fantastic! I am confident after a bit of work it will start to become comfortable, but I am still a bit nervous about it!

I think actually having a ticklist helped. I went through when chomping "focus, composure, light and then eyes". Due to the pose she had making me spend extra time in PS I am adding pose in future to the list ha!

PP work is essential. The difference between them is quite drastic but tried to keep a natural look (no blurring or softening here...a slight increase in sharpness was used).

do a search for light head shot setups and use one, get in and get out. if you need to practice a head of time, do so to have an idea the flash power you will need. you don't need 100 different shots. umbrellas and cheap flashes work just fine.

take your time, setup your lighting, chimp the exposures and shoot a few poses and be on your way.

something seems not so clean, did you blur the background yourself?, id also like to see a different lighting setup, try to get the catchlights more in the eyes.

the lighting seems over head and straight on. try pulling it off to the side more, when you have a young pretty models model you can get away with more dramatic lighting since you aren't trying to hide flaws or make them look younger..
