I know I've not been on the forum for some time, but hope you don't mind me sharing this image.

I was photographing Goldeneyes and Scaup when I was surprised by this Red-breasted Merganser drake when he surfaced out in front of me with his catch and being chased by a hen. He was actually able to swallow his catch while on the run. This was wonderful to watch and actually I'm surprised I had the presence of mind to get the camera on him and start shooting.

Shot with 1D4, 300/2.8L IS and 2xTC III.
