I am curious to know what picture hosting site is the most popular? I am also interested to know if any have a similar format to that of Web-shots which is not Smile. I used to like have the control of placing photos in a group folder, now I see most of these sites are just giving open shots and you have to scroll through one by one. I am looking to put my pics on line but could use the advise as to which site have good features and the price for upgrading too.

Thanks I am going to hit the sack now but 1st chance tomorrow I am going to look at it and I glanced at it I like the look so far. As long as I can categorize and not have these huge stupid never ending pics. To me it just doesn't make any sense if there is no order to the pictures. The discount part is really nice I appreciate that too thank you

i also think zenfolio is a good option.. couple reason.. makes a good photo hosting site like badams site he posted.. or you can also make a full functioning website out if it like what i have done (link in my signature)

not only is it really easy to create folders, and galleries, but its easy to move them around afterwards and organize

i also like that its unlimited storage, so i have my full "business" website up and running for weddings and portraits.. where i can upload the photo session and sell digital downloads and prints right from my website in password protected galleries... but i also created a "personal and family events" folder.. in which i have every vacation i have ever been on...... and all my summer pictures up at my cabin organized into different years for my friends to browse and see...... as well as a "locked & hidden" folder where i have a online back-up of every single photo i have on my computer (6000+) at the full-size resolution, broken down into different years as the folders.. eg. 2007...2008...2009 etc. so if god forbid my house burned down.. at least i still have my photos! lol

WOW that really makes me want to just jump on it. I lost 2K plus pictures with Webshots and I am really pissed but I would like to have the unlimited and a chance to store my photos. Do they also have a print service as well? Just curious and then I am headed to bed you guys have peaked my interest now and once I get started I am like a junky......be back in a few minutes....

ok I see that you posted about prints I was tired and mis read the post. OK I might be sold on the site I am going to check it out fully tomorrow. My main issue is being able to print and also keeping the photos backed up on the web. I plan to do a few misc HD's to back up my shots but the web is even better. Sandy destroyed my slave machine which was used to store my photos and I thought I was safe because I had Webshots. Then all of a sudden after the storm I had found that webshots lost all of my photos and have not been able to restore them. It was bad but with something like this that seems preventable. This time around trying to do things better. I will definitely be able to make a sound choice before the week is out.

yes they have a print service, and you can customize your prices to whatever you want and keep the profit :), i offer both prints and digital downloads, and just last week they finally added the option for clients to download the whole gallery for a set price eg. an extra $75 or whatever, you can also make a "self fulfillment option" and they can order a cd, and they pay via pay pal and then you can just mail them a cd once they order. makes it so easy

they have a free 14 day trial no obligation, thats what i did, cuz i had no idea it existed before a month ago when i discovered this forum and then decided to change my website and just play around and see how i liked it, well... within i think 2 days i had decided that i was definitely going to switch over :)

so yeah.. i have now had it for just over a month and no regrets! i would just try the free trial and see for yourself though :)

I am going to do just that and then will use the code that was provided to get whatever deal is offered. I am going to move on this especially since I have had no response from the new owners of webshots about my photos that were lost. I just want something user friendly and not just open chaos if you know what I mean. Seems like it would be more than worth the $$
