A family of blacktail deer came through my yard, a buck, doe and yearling. I want to know if the yearling is partial albino or lieusistic. Or, is it just losing its fawn hair and growing in its adult colors. I've seen adults like this, before, with the pinto horse look.

Albinos are 100% white with pink eyes. Anything less would be a piebald. This is not a piebald either. Mange maybe? Not sure.

I don't see blacktails too often and you captured these well. Thanks for sharing!

Doesn't really look like mange either. If it was mange the hair would be off and you would see skin. This looks like the hair is actually yellow or a shade close to it.

In the last picture the hair looks thinner and/or shorter, especially at the elbows. Maybe early mange or early recovery from mange and the hair is coming back?
I've seen piebald reptiles that had some color in the "white" areas instead of being truly white, so that might still be a possibility too.

I've seen White Tail deer, in Montana, that look like a pinto. They have their regular brown coat with large splashes of white hair.

Look at this:

Thanks, everybody , for commenting. I looked at google images and this doesn't look piebald. I hope I see it again, later on to see if there is any change.

Could it possibly be leucistic? I'm no expert but there's my two cents worth of suggestion.
