Hey guys I am looking at getting a new lens and would like to upgrade from my 18-55. I would like it to a wide angle or even a fish eye. Any suggestions?

I have been looking at the sigma 10-20

Canon 7D, Canon 100mm L F2.8, Sigma 120-300mm F2.8 OS, Sigma 50mm F1.4, Canon 430 ex II, Sigma 2x teleconverter, Kenko extension tubes, Vello flash cord And a few bits and peices and a Yashica 635!!!

The Tokina 12-24 is a nice lens too, and a useful focal range.

Love my Sigma 10-20 f/4-5.6 when I use it. The problem is that I don't shoot wide all that often. I don't see myself selling it that as when I need to go wide it's a great lens. Keep in mind that I'm one of those that disagrees when folks say that 24mm isn't wide enough on a crop.

Canon 10-22 is a good lens to consider.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

Tokina 12-24, tack sharp throughout the frame. Great performer.

Canon 10-22, number 1 all around UWA. From there all the others are really close and cheaper.

they're all good...figure out how much you want to spend, and that'll narrow down the options

sigma 10-20mm f4-5.6
sigma 10-20mm f3.5
sigma 8-16mm
tokina 11-16mm f2.8
tokina 12-24mm
canon 10-22mm

  • If you can afford one - Canon 10-22
  • If you can't - Sigma 10-20
  • Unless you want to shoot stars
  • or inside with no flash
  • Then get the Tokina 11-16

Tokina 12-24 has issues with aperture cable breaking. I had it happen to me. Stay away.

I perfer 8mm Rokinon. Can't hardly get wider than that
