I want you guys to tell me everything WRONG with this pic, and what I can do to make it better next time. Didn't use a tripod, will definately use one next time, but what can I do in terms of camera settings for next time. Be as mean and critical as you want.

I was very interested when I read New York skyline, but this doesn't do much for me.. I like the docks and the water but the background doesn't say skyline or much of anything at all. the building on the right is distracting... just my two cents... Sari.

I want your two cents lol. Actually want your entire dollar! Well here in Jersey we call it the NY skyline no matter where your looking at it from. Its just a name for the view from across the hudson. Sorry for the misleading title.

doesnt do much for me either... looks like it could have been a nice sunset if it wasnt for the clouds. on a clearer day it would look pretty cool. maybe if you zoomed in and isolated a few of the buildings rather than having the whole skyline and so much sky and water, then waited for a boat to come along and give it some interest?! i dont know really, never taken any pics like this before but thats how i'd like to take it.
