22" Beauty Dish to Camera's left hitting model at about a 65 degree angle from camera's position at about 5'-6' away raised on a stand about 6' high. Metering is at f/8 at 1/30 sec. This allowed for the nice dark shadowing on the subjects torso. Second light is a 7" reflector to camera's right at about a 45 degree angle behind subject, also at about 5'-6' away also raised on a stand about 6' high. Metering from this light was one stop under camera exposure at f/5.6. This allowed a nice highlighted rim light to show depth to the subject without "too much" burning out the skin detail and to also prevent her from going into a deep prolong shadow. Ambient light, I believe, is about 2 stops under..... I was using some else's lighting set-up, therefore I was limited to their settings. If it were my lighting set-up I would have went up in ISO from 100 to about 400 thus giving me about a 1/125 sec. shutter and brought the power of the strobes "WAY-WAY" down to give me an aperture of about f/4 and f/2.8..... But hey, when you're using some elses set-up you have to sort of go with what their using. I believe that they were using an ISO of 400 and shooting at like something crazy like f/16..... I really didn't want that, so I brought my ISO down to 100 and adjusted accordingly.....
That's also one of the cool things I like about our group, aside from the 6-12 Mentors that are at a typical shoot who set up their lights and allow "ANYONE" to shoot from them, there are typically photographers who pay to be there who still allow you to use their set-ups. We're a BIG FRIENDLY FaceBook group of about 3000 people (photographers, models, MUA, Clothing Designers, etc...) who all get along. And although, I could have quickly set up my lights to shoot this subject how I really wanted to, I just politely asked if I could fire off several shots. I believe I did about 6-8 exposures and moved on.....
