Anyone on here use and/or recommend this software? How easy is it to use?

I'm getting into portrait photography and my thinking is that it should enhance the final images.

I run a PC 3Gb memory Vista and a Laptop 6Gb memory Windows 7

Hello Paul - sorry, I'm not familiar with the s/w so can't make any comments on that end. What sort of s/w are you using for processing your images, and do you have any sort of lighting kit/setup for your portraiture?

Hi

I'm using strobes with umbrellas and reflectors with white and black BGs Shoot in RAW and currently using Elements 10. Not a professional just a keen hobbytog.

Actually then you've got quite a good setup and likely can handle a variety of general situations. Elements 10 should give you solid processing horsepower.

It sounds like you're looking for a plug-in or stand alone app that will render flattering portraiture and styles. There is a lot out there and I'm sure in the next hour or so folks in the U.S. will start making suggestions as they hit the morning coffee ;). Depending upon your abilities with Elements and layers though you could probably achieve a lot of that on your own. - Stu

I have used Portrait Professional for over an year now. It's very easy to use and saves lots of that "photoshopping" time. Lately have used it every portrait that I have published. There are some good discounts also in Portraits Professional website. So I would say go for it ;)

I have had Portrait Professional for years. It is the best and easiest software for portraits on the market. I think the default settings are a little over processed, but it is easy to adjust to your own style or liking. Most of the stuff could be done in Photoshop but Portrait Professional will do in a couple of minutes what would take 30 minutes to an hour. Well worth the money.

Thanks Stu. As always I'll give it my best shot. Always willing to learn.

I use it too. Most stuff could be done with Photoshop (not sure about elements), but it's the speed and ease at which PP does it stuff that appeals to me - plus that it can also be ran as a stand alone program.

I agree with dg - the default settings are normally over-processed (as are most of the examples on their websites IMO. I prefer to see someone looking realistic, not like a china doll, but that's just me).

I like the idea that you can also turn off sculpting with one click. Some people don't like re-sculpturing of their photo's, but most are generally happy with eye sharpening / detailing and skin smoothing which is done with ease.
