Took my cousin's family down to a nice park for some family shots as a present to my aunt for her upcoming birthday. I know I'll probably get flamed for the selective color and since I posted that picture on flickr I was able to clean up the selection so there wasn't as much blue in the little girl's hair from her father's shirt behind her. There are a few others on my Flickr that I didn't post, don't want to flood the forum with them. Let me know what you guys think.

#1 is your best shot. I actually like the selective coloring effect in your other shot. I think time of day was probably your worst enemy. I know you tried to put the sun behind them, but they're still squinting pretty hard. good shots overall though

With the selective colour one, where the blue is showing through her hair, let that bit go b/w. People see the texture. They won't notice a few individual strands aren't in colour.
