A quick question

hello guys/lady's I have Canon 60D and 18-55 and 55-250 mm lenses I try so hard to do a good photo of stars something like this photo ( big credit to the photographer it looks amazing) : http://500px.com/photo​/28138063?from=popular

Whenever I try I fail to hard not even spots are shown on the camera...

Can you help me out how to do it and achieve that kind of photo ? at least close to it

With your equipment I'd recommend using the 18mm on a solid tripod, start with your aperture wide open, try ISO 800 and higher with 15 to 20 second shots. Use manual focus and live view (with 5x or 10x magnification) on a bright star to achieve correct focus. Turn Image Stabilization off, use mirror lockup and your in camera 2 sec timer, or a remote shutter release.

Depending on the amount of light pollution where you live, will also have an effect on your results. You have to experiment and you'll quickly learn what settings work better.

Looks good, I like the composition of the second one best.

You'll have much better results capturing the Milky Way during a New Moon and in a dark sky area. Scroll to your location to find a dark sky (little to no light pollution).

What country are you in? That portion of the milky way may not be overhead for you yet, especially in the USA. If you want to see cygnus or any other clusters like that in all of it's expanse then you will need to wait until the mid summer in the US. In fact I think it may be relative to the hemisphere but don't quote me on that. Also you have to wait for those clouds to disappear first ! Good luck and clear skies
