Because the SX50 doesn't go to 480 mm - it only goes to 215 mm, which covers the same as a 1200 mm lens on a full frame DSLR like the 5D3 or 1DX. But a ballpark number, assuming the maximum f/stop varies linearly, would be about f/4.5. Jon
