i bought a couple of batteries for my 5d3 off of evil bay and i did not read the fine print which says my camera may not recognize the batteries and, hey, your OEM charger will not charge them! WTF? obviously i have not used this type of battery for awhile and something as changed.

are there AM batteries that will work with my charger? thanks.

Hmmm, did you checked for other sellers?
One would think it's a easy thing to shop extra batteries on ebay,
The sad thing is that you get your product in 3 weeks, B&H will do in a few days!

i've been using 1d bodies for the past five years so i wasn't aware of this new development in batteries. i actually got them in three days from a u.s. seller.

i've heard of the pearstones. isn't there anything cheaper that works or is everyone paying that much for an AM battery?

Although I've never used them in a 5d3, I've used/use Wasabi batteries in my Rebels and 60d (same battery 5d3 uses) with never an issue. Charge in the OEM charger fine and register in the camera.

I have heard about 3rd party batteries having some issues with these new cameras coming out.

You might check with Boeing... it's possible they have a few lithium batteries for sale cheap... of course, you'd have to re-package them! ;)

Honestly I get all mine on eBay for about 8 bucks. I have 4 full set for each of my cameras (16 total)

And I have never had any problems with any for the last 2 years. They report just like OEM

+1
Absolutely great to deal with. I've been buying from them for years.
Once I got some tight-fitting batteries and they replaced them asap w/o any hassles.

where do you think the canon batteries are made? i'm looking for good aftermarket batteries that report with the camera and work with an OEM charger. nothing "fake" about that.

My eBay batteries do exactly that. I have never seen any loss in charge.

They report the battery health and shots taken. For the price they are worth a shot.

Just read about the description
