HELLO!!
If you have to replace that $20(whatever) 3rd party batter every 3 months, and an OEM will last you one year, how much are you really saving?? oh, right..nothing. it actually costs MORE in the long run

Um, no. As I said, $30 for TWO batteries and a charger with a car adapter (something the Canon charger doesn't include) is well worth the risk to me. If they fail in 3 months I won't buy this brand again. I've been using Wasabi batteries in my daily pocket cam (P300) for well over a year without a single issue.

So yes, I am saving money :p

I just ordered an LP-E8 Battery for my T3i from Ebay for $6! Bought it after mostly positive comments on this thread, thanks everyone! We shall see its performance.

I use OEM grips on all my three non-1D bodies, having had a bad experience with an after-market grip 'way back. I think it's worth the money.

Batteries? Not so much.

When I buy a new body, I do buy an extra OEM to make a matched pair in the grip; my back-up battery pairs are either Energizer or HÃ¥hnel. Not the cheapest but certainly, at 1/3 the price of the originals, not to be sniffed at.

I can't detect any difference in capacity or longevity between them and OEM.
