One of my cousins just opened a salon and wants some pictures to use for her Facebook. I agreed to. We were discussing it in more detail today and she asked me if I could take pictures while she had a client. Since I knew the purpose of these photos would be for her to promote her salon, I was almost certain I'd need a model release. In addition to that, she also asked if she would be able to use these photos to submit to styling competitions in industry magazines.
Onto my question. If she does have me photograph a client of hers, what would I need in a model release to cover me? Or would there be a more creative way around it like if she gave the client a discount if they agree to be photographed for these purposes?
Also, she naturally wants some photos of herself too. Will I need her to sign a model release?
I probably bit off a bit more than I can chew here. I've never done any professional work. My only accolades are when people look at my best shots and comment, "Oh, that looks really good." I'm also not charging her for this as I don't feel my experience level is there to demand a price for this, not to mention we have a long standing relation as family.
Thank you for any help anyone can provide me.
