I'm about 7 months into owning this wonderful camera......I'm looking new 24-70 for basket ball. I've been using primes. And 17-35 f4 just a little slow. Do you love the lens on the markiii? Oh I shoot, teen portrait but mostly lacrosse, football and swimming......or do keep saving for the 300 2.8
Thanks

Your 85 and 70-200 should be good enough for basketball. The 300 f/2.8 is a game changer. Go for it! You won't regret it.

Most of the outdoor sports in my MaxPreps galleries were shot with the MKIII and 300 f/2.8 or the 7D and the 300.

I love the 24-70 on a 1.3X sensor for basketball. This is the lens I want under the rim shooting just about anything in the paint.

I also use a 70-200, but this is more to either shoot from the corners or to shoot jumpers / guard play. If a forward is putting in a layup and you are under the basket, you probably want less than 70mm.

I use a Canon 5DIII and a Sony A7rIII
