I'm in the Market for a grip for my 5DM3 and I ran across this. I had a Vello grip for my 5DM2 that was great so I ended up ordering this one just now. It's 20% off what it normally sells for.

As you would expect, some people will like it others will dislike it. I purchased this for my 5D3 and have had no problems with it. Some folks state the buttons don't function as smooth to touch as like the OEM version but I don't own the OEM version so I cannot compare. There was talk about battery drainage, I have seen none other than the normal from day to day use.

Yea, I've never used the OEM one, so I don't have any experience. From what I understand, people will come up with anything to justify their purchase :D

However, I do know that the OEM ones are made out of the magnesium alloy and are somewhat weather sealed. But if it's pouring rain, I'll just take off my grip and go with my 5dm3 in a rain sleeve. That should do the trick.

I recently bought the zeikos for $30 (with a promo).
It is available at buydig for $49 shipped...
That price for Vello grip is going on since long..

It's been sitting at $100 since the beginning of 2013. I've been occasionally checking on it and it finally dropped.
