I hope I am not breaking any rules by posting this; I know there are some storm fanatics here (like me), and thought you might like to see it. I have met Reed, and he's a great guy; Storms are one of my other hobbies, that intersects well with photography.
---------------
Long story short: Storm Chasers was cancelled. I don't know why they would dump that in favor of Deadliest Catch, OCC, or My Cat From Hell, but they did. (Personal preference, there.
)
But Reed Timmer, one of the stars, and owner of the Dominator 1 and 2, has been chasing since long before the show started, and not having network support hasn't stopped him. He has since launched production of his own online show, called Tornado Chasers. It aims more at depicting what really happens; not all drama, not all fighting; being on the road, and hunting for the next storm. (Oh, and ridiculous conversations and gas station food
)
He has Chris Whiteneck as his Executive Producer and Director of Photography. He has worked on Dirty Jobs, Storm Chasers, Swamp People, and Deadliest Catch.
He also has Ken Cole as his editor. Ken made Tornado Glory, as well as Heaven's Rage for PBS.
But with this as his main 'job', he has trouble funding all the gas, vehicles, cameramen, editors, and producers, so he has started a Kickstarter project to help fund season 2, and he is almost to his goal. You can see his project, and watch the first episode of season 1 here:
