Actually owning a Tamron 24-70 VC. Am satisfied but still tempted by the new 24-70LII. I am considering adding a Tamron 70-200 VC as I like the versatility of a telephoto. I sold the 70-200LII for the 85LII as I love so much the bokeh of the 85LII.

So, i am torturing myself trying to chose between the both setup :

Tamron 24-70 VC
Tamron 70-200 VC
85LII

or

Canon 24-70LII
85LII

Is there anything you didn't like with the Tamron 24-70? I tried it out a few days ago and thought it was really sharp. And the VC works good as well.

I'd take the new Telephoto over the marginal sharpness improvement of a more expensive 24-70 (and loss of VC/IS).

If it were me I would take the Tamron combo, I don't believe the 24-70L II is worth its price tag.

I would go with the first option as well. While the 24-70 II is amazing IQ wise, the price is just way too much.

Given your choices, I would go with the 24-70 II and 85 II- 2 great lenses.

Ultimately...will you regret buying the tamron in the long run? If the answer is no then buy it!
