Mid-latitude aurora?

Does anyone else here watch the SolarHam.Com website (external link) and/or Facebook site (external link)?

There was an earth directed CME event yesterday. The initial "impact" (for lack of a better word) is estimated (by me based on info from this link (external link)) to be at around 4pm CDT and peak around 1am CDT. The forecast is for a chance for mid-latitude aurora. Satellite comm will possibly (I think probably) be affected.

If nothing else it could be a good chance to photograph auroral activity.

I've seen some nice red aurora shots from Gisborne, New Zealand from last night. That's at about the same latitude as San Francisco.
