I just bought a used 350D for a friend of mine and the previous original owner told me they do not know how many actuations they shot with it. I took a few test shots and noticed that when I put the card in my reader that the directory name on the card started at 331CANON when I got it and after my test shots I now have a folder that says 332CANON on there as well with photos in it. The file numbers end at IMG_3206.CR2. Does this mean that this camera has taken 23,000 photos so long as the continuous shutter count was never reset. Since the default directory starts at 100CANON on the cards I'm assuming since I'm at 331 then the folder count is at 231. There are 100 photos that go into a folder before it turns over so 100 * 231 = 23,100.
This is assuming that no one has ever changed the continuous feature of this camera. It's in pretty decent shape. A few scuff marks but not bad.
Does my 23,106 current shot count sound correct for this camera? The shutter count program I have does not read the Rebels at all. I can see how many photos I've taken with my 5D Mark II and my 40D. But not with this 350D.
