As much as I would like to be PMA in Feb 06, it appears to be Fall 06 based on the only information I have read that remotely resembles a reliable rumor.

Do you suppose that they're still working out the remaining Chromalife100 colors?
They've got CcMmYB out as far as I know.

I quit waiting and got an IP6600D. Wonderful output, and I'm not quite sure why I waited so long to get a photo-quality printer. I know that I was waiting for the ip9900 replacement as well, but when I need extra-large output, I'll use a service. I don't print huge very often.

I don't know what everyone wants in a replacement, other than CDS, but archival inks aren't very important to me. My i9900 does everything I want it to and more. Best $500 I ever spent on photography.

Tom ,. as far as I can recall,. the other ink colors are around in Japan and elsewhere and have been for some time.

There not here yet simply becuase they aren't marketing a printer that can use them yet...

Ronald,. I agree,. I'm thrilled with my one genration older i9100 too :)
Best color printer I have ever used!

I love my i9900 and prior to that my i950. BUT it wonna do Panoramics. :(

I was all getting ready to get an epson again (1800 or 2400) But the Epson rep at MacWorld was such a rude &*^^*. That I will just have to wait and see what Canon comes up with. I really want to do long panorama's. And I wish Canon USA would see the light and add cd/dvd printing to there USA models. Kinda silly not to have it when the international models do have it.

Anyone know of sellers in the USA that might have the i9950 with the cd/dvd capibility?

Seems like they would just make archival inks to replace the inks in the i9900. Why dont they do that?
