Is there such a thing?? Wouldn't it be great if you were traveling to some area, you could look up an area by state and city locations. It could be done by members posting their favorite site with directions. This came up while talking to some other photographers while shooting wildlife in Florida.

Google can sort of do that by doing a few different steps. So long as you can find an address for a location (or near it) then you can use Google Maps to find it or a GPS if you have one.

Shampoo sounds like an unfortunate name for a hair product.
You're a ghost driving a meat-coated skeleton made from stardust, riding a rock, hurtling through space. Fear Nothing!

Flickr has it sort of too.
You can add where you took the photo to the info and it comes up on a map.
It would be cool.

there is always Ebird which tells where birds are but not many photos IIRC.

Found the one for Wisconsin today:
http://wsobirds.org/?page_id=546 (external link)

and it links to that ebird site.

I'm wondering if birders are somewhat like anglers and fishermen where they don't want to post the locations of their favorite spots to help keep those spots from getting over-run.
