Hello Folks,

I recently acquired a Canon 70-200mm 2.8L II. I am using a 7D. I would like to get an extender for it but after read some info on Canon and Adorama's website, it seems there are not very compatible.

The question is, has any one used an extender for that type of setup and what extender.

Thanks All

Any of Canon's 1.4x or 2x Extenders will be fine and they will all allow you to maintain AF. Image degradation will be something you'll have to form your own opinion on.

I've got a 70-200 f2.8L II and use it with a Kenko Pro300 DGX 1.4x and a Canon MkIII 2x converters on a 7D and a 5D3. With the Kenko 1.4x the IQ is still excellent, there's not much image degradation or AF slowing. With the Canon MkIII 2x the IQ is still superb but there is noticeable degradation and the Af is still about as fast as with the 1.4x. With the 2x extender the IQ is better if the lens is stopped down to around f8 so you do need good light to get the best from it but you'll have no problems with it working on your 7D.
