I'm wondering if I should get a screen protector for my 5DMIII LCD. I've never had one for my previous cameras but considering the expense of this camera, I'm considering.

Anyone out there believe in screen protectors for cameras? Anyone with any experience?

Your screen is already protected! You can replace the one Canon was kind enough to design into their cameras, should you damage it to that point. You are not looking at nor rubbing your greasy nose on bare, unprotected lcd's on the back of cameras. Do a search on this site to read the years and years and years of "discussions" on the use of redundant screen protection... it's almost as long as the "should i get a UV filter to "protect" my lens?" thread.

I'm not sure if the 5DMkIII has the same screen as the MkII, but this is the procedure to replace the MkII screen, I have also done this on a friends old 20D. It's pretty simple and the screen cost I think $12.

Thanks very much. That seems terribly obvious when you stop to think about it. :-)
