hi
thinking of changing my set up.Current 10-22 sigma,28-75 Tamron,30 1.4,50 1.8 and 70-200 2.8 is.Thinking of 17-50 2.8. ,24-105 and keep the 2 primes.I would have to sell the 10-22 and 70-200 to fund.No issues with losing the ultra wide but major issues losing 70-200.Being honest it is hardly on the camera but when it is the images are fantastic.
would i be happy with the 24-105?Would i miss the extra reach?
help

I could live without a 70-200 2.8 IS

I could live without the 70-200 2.8 IS but, not without my 70-200mm f/4L IS which is lighter in weight, less expensive and provides equal or better IQ...

What body are you using? If on a crop I would not sell the 10-22 for a 24-105. The 17-50 would cover your general range. Keep the 70-200.

Right up to the point when you need f/2.8

If you've been happy with the Tamron 28-75, you'll love the 24-105. Better build, weather sealed, much faster focusing, bigger range. Of course, that comes at the expense of f2.8, but you have your primes for times when you need faster than f4.

I would second RPC Crowe's comment about the f4 IS. If you'd like a 70-200 but can't afford to keep the f2.8 IS, this might be an interesting alternative for you. The f4 IS is simply an outstanding lens. Again, it's not f2.8; only you can decide if it's a compromise you can live with. The f4 IS can be found for between $800 and $900 on the used market these days.

Have you considered a Tamron 24-70 VC? It's amazing! I sold my 24-105 for it cause I hated having to switch to the Sigma 30 1.4 when indoors. But you seem used lens switching as you have 2 fast primes. But me, the sigma seems to never be used anymore. So if it was me, I'd sell the 28-75 2.8, 30 1.4, 50 1.8 and go with a Tamron 24-70 2.8 VC but that's me. I do really miss the reach though as I do a lot of outdoor stuff.

I love my 70-200mm f/2.8 IS and it is the most used lens by a wide margin. However, I would keep the 24-105 if forced to have only one lens.
