no lol the kit will come in one piece :) i am getting it from allen camera that fro knows jared polin hangs out at they are great people and will max your savings and take good care of you if you ever need something that might be sold out elsewhere give them a call you might be in luck with them.

and thanks for the recommendation on the manual i didnt even consider it because it going to be a massive learning curve (im having a little apprehension this will make the addition of the darkside official since i had some nikon gear but no body to use it with so this really makes it official :) but its going to be fun and great to be rid of the AA filter and gain some much needed DR and that better iso performance then my 7D although i will still keep it and play around with it until the 7D mark II comes out then i will go full bore into that :) unless nikon tricks me with that jedi mind trick reversed and darkside influenced to keep me away haha.

im so looking forward to the 85mm i have some super cool newborn shots coming up and i really need to start with thoughts on poses and ideas but this will be the perfect test run :) and two card slots woot so i can do some video of the event too. im rambling forgive me my meds have taken full control.. .. ..

The people at Allen's camera are good people . I bought my sigma 35mm 1.4 from them. Tried it in the store played with it for hours before buying. They let me try a few different lens before my final decision.. Good people there

This, I think these days with the Internet we look for the best price for gear and forget about local camera dealer. I'm guilty of this with a lot of gear, but when I buy lenses I always go to shop the service is great and you can try a few lenses make sure they are ok etc and for this reason paying a bit more is worth it,also if you do get a problem it's so easy to sort out face to face. trouble over here is a lot of shops are closing due to the likes of amazon shame really

I pretty much purchase a lot of my gear locally at a family owned camera store in Des Moines. It keeps the money local, and you have the opportunity to actually test the gear and talk face to face with people much more knowledgable then I am.

It warms my heart to see a few of you mention this. I bought my 60D kit from a local dealer, paid a few dollars more than I might have online, and I would gladly do it again. Loved being able to handle the T3i and 60D side by side and figure out which suited me best.

And it looks like old thread subscriptions don't migrate to the new thread. Don't forget to re-up! :)

I just had this with my billingham bag I bought, originally I wanted a hadly pro but after an hour in the shop and about 10 different bags out and putting my gear in them and mincing around the shop like a woman....lol. I ended up with the Hadley large, plus as said earlier your keeping the money local and great after sales.

Hi Guys, I went away for the weekend with my hubby and only shot in Manual! :) Here's a couple of shots. Nothing stellar as far as composition goes, but nonetheless, I didn't use auto. lol

very nice.

when i first got my DSLR(t2i), i forced myself to use manual ever since day 1. could be a pain at times but when you get used to it, it's rewarding. Be the boss of your camera.

I wish I had done that. When I had my xsi, I would take a shot-flip to the next slot on the dial-take another shot, etc...until I got one that worked. I just didn't take the time to learn...well, I was busier with life then. oh well. Here's another..
