Very nice, would love to see more of this

ok here's another one. this family saw my other edit and asked me to changed their background as well. Requested an 8 x 12 print.

Do you think i should charged them with the editing as well?

Yes, you should have an editing fee. Most photographers I have worked with will fix minor flaws and their normal post process on the prints that are ordered, but you should have an "effects" fee, such as background swaps, selective color, etc.

Not that many will notice, but the reflection in the boy's glasses now looks very unnatural ;)

that looks quite acceptable - current glare could be attributed to the sun.

Using a lens to make your subject pop certainly must make it easier to swap backgrounds...

regarding the fee, its why I likely will not be a full-time pro... I feel a Pro - meaning running a business as a business - would charge the PP fee and also a printing fee. A person's time is money.

I just reworked all my fees (for now). They 'were' quite focussed on session and 'Print' fees - but people now don't care about prints so much - they want images they can post on Facebook. (your example is getting rare, someone wanting a 'print')

We have to offer what customers want. Namely: web images. Unfortunately that means more images to edit! More time. Less money per image edit!

Yeah, you have to charge a fee for extensive editing time, especially if all they want is an electronic version!

I enjoy this. As a hobby... I guess if someone wanted me to do something casual I'd probably do it. No "once in a lifetime" shots though.

Yeah, looks good to me.

I wonder if a CPL would have made a lot of that glare go away. Those things are fun, but fussy and the light loss is an issue. Using one to make reflections vanish is one of the most bizarre things I have ever done though. Especially on water or large glass surfaces. I used one once at the zoo to make the reflections on the glass animal enclosures go away. It's creepy.

There's still quite a few people who wants it framed. This is one example. But i agree with you.

That's why i'm charging for my time now. One time i have these girls who wanted some pics of them with their JS prom gowns. Because they were friends daughters, i just told them not to pay for the session, just order prints from my website. So i posted the pics to my fb for them to see. All i got were praises of how great and happy they are with the pics. Guess what? None of them orders.... I gave it a week in my fb then deleted it. Lesson learned.

FB has splattered photos on the internet like nothing else and the value of a photo has so little value to people now because as they say 'everyone is a photographer' now...

If we want to make money we have to show how our photos/images are so much different than "snap-shots"... I think there is a market if you can shoot women and you are good at photoshop... so so so many women are always snapping photos of themselves (look on typical FB profile picture albums) but you can instantly see the difference from when a pro takes the shot.
