OK Totally OT. My youngest is going to the local comm college for his senior year of high school. Of course, I am trying to save a couple of bucks and buy books used. One of the books has an online access code for additional material. I emailed the prof to ask if it's need for the class...below is what I got. Doesn't give me warm fuzzies about the prof. :/
Me to him:
Dr. XXXX,
A slot has opened and my son is now registered for the class. Regarding the textbook: Is it necessary to have the McGraw-Hill online access code for this course.? I am looking at buying the book used but a used edition would not have the access code included.
Thank you very much for your time.

Him to me:
Hi:
I do not have the access #. There is a copy of the text at the XXX library (the reserve room). Go there and see the textbook.

Me to Him:
I am sorry I wasn't clear. I am not asking you for the access #. I am asking if you require the students to have the access # for the class. New texts come with an online code for access to additional questions. Used texts often do not have the code.

Him to me:
Hi:
Sorry. I do not have the excess code.
