Mounting satin pearl paper photos on foamcore or on gatorboard is a super-light way to exhibit photos (I prefer the black gatorboard). Getting an extra sheet and cutting pieces (1/2" thick or less) is easy to do. The Velcros will hold it, as an 12x18 weighs a few ounces Gerry

Question: How do I get things ramped back up after the holidays. Obviously I am still new at this. :/ How about offering a gift certificate for a photo session? Or combination of a session and a print package? A price increase might not be so noticeable on a gift certificate. And you can schedule your work for sometime after the holiday "crush". A little more relaxing for both you and the customer. Thank you, Pekka! I'm sure some members here might have imagined that POTN might begin winding down. But that doesn't make the news any less disappointing. So generous of you to allow us to go along for the ride. As a result you gave us a way to help each other become better photographers. But there's still so much more to learn.

BurnUnit Senior Member More info | Dec 03, 2013 13:02 | #6878 I've done a little more experimenting with this photo in DPP trying to replicate Vinz's results in LR. But I'm not making the progress that I'd hoped for. But I am seeing some interesting comparisons in the RGB histograms between these three shots. #1 is the SOOC version. #2 is my first edit. And #3 is Vinz's edit. I'm guessing that the increased midrange info in #2 is a result of my adding a bit of brightness and bumping up the color curves a little. Any amount of desaturation I try in DPP helps but doesn't completely clean up the yellow cast in the background and it takes a lot of color out of the rest of the picture as well. Then when I try to bring the skin tones back to where they look natural most of the color cast returns to the background. And I end up with a bigger pile of midrange info in the histogram, though I'm sure that's not the only thing I should be looking at. I'm sure this is a result of only having the RGB curves in DPP for making seperate color adjustments. I've yet to drag it into PS but that seems like the next logical step. HSL may be the only way to approach trying to control one color. It seems like most of you use LR and this is a good example of why. But is there some way to get similar results in DPP or by using the RGB curves? Or am I just banging my head against the wall? Thank you, Pekka! I'd guess it would work either online as well as something in print. Thank you, Pekka! I'm sure some members here might have imagined that POTN might begin winding down. I'd guess it would work either online as well as something in print. Maybe make up some promotional business cards offering them as a Holiday Special. Hand them out or when possible leave some out at area businesses where it seems appropriate. Maybe locally owned stores or barber or beauty shops, hotels or spas and tanning salons. Someplace that might be just a notch above the big box discount stores. Don't worry about discounting your prices, promote it more as an "easy to give" Christmas gift. ![]() OK. Thanks for the ideas. I'm pretty timid when it comes to stuff like this, but I'm going to have to get over it. lol My name is Brenda ~Saved by grace, walking by faith
