Wife & I visited some friends for drinks the other evening. I couldn't believe my ears when I was about to come back into the room and my photog friend was saying to my wife and his wife, "Rick really should get a decent quality Telephoto Zoom lens." (I hadn't solicited those comments from him either). My wife replied, "Well the money is there if he really wants to buy one". Pick Me Up Off The Floor!!! I had been interested in the Sigma 150-500 for birding (like the friend has) but I suddenly determined that what I really wanted but couldn't justify the cost, was a Canon 70-200 f2.8 (Non IS). I was looking back through a lot of Vinz portrait shots with his and ones from the sample thread. I spent a couple of days browsing on line and second hand etc and then last night saw a real bargain on Kijiji. (Like Craigs List I think). It was a Sigma 70-200 f2.8 OS ( which is the equiv of IS) A year old and still has warranty AND a brand new Sigma 2X Teleconverter all for $700. When I double checked the Forum Classifieds ..... the first thing I see is Vinz's Canon listed for sale!
Anyway, I got the Sigma and can't wait to try it in the morning. Now to change my Siggy.

Congrats Rick! You won't regret the Siggy. I got mine of of Russ (S.n.a.f.u.) and it really is a great lens and the OS works great.
