Good job!

Following the 70D/Fast lens AF problems drama, I decided to check my 60D with the nifty.

In the process I shot this:

and posted it in FB. A friend, who is an antiquities restorer got intrigued seeing a number of ancient Greek motifs all together in one vase, asked me which museum did I shoot this one...

My front entrance! :lol::lol:

Upon further examination, we think that it is a Turkish rendition of what a Greek vase ought to be!...

Paul, after watching Mark Wallace of AdoramaTV re: Color checker passport. And thanks to you for mentioning it. I'm buying one.

So for every session or for a different location and different lightings, you have to make a new profile?

no wonder the raw file you sent me has a perfect white balance. well the even color comes from your huge softbox though.

Yes every time you change lights you make a profile. One of the best ones to try ir out is shoot at sunset some nice golden light get model to hold colour checker and shoot with off camera flash for fill, when you go into lightroom you make the profile apply it and boom perfect colours no need to adjust :)
It's a great workflow colour checker+calibrated monitor=perfect results.

making profile takes only a few seconds anyway so.

so you have to perfect your exposure first then take a shot with the checker, right?

to use grey card for metering, will it work on manual flash? i know the solution would be a light meter but stupid me i sold my light meter.

As you know I'm light meter fan so I meter and go. Also with the colour checker one your lights are set you can take a shot and check that the grey and white patches are not clipped and you are good to go.
In lightroom you just right click image and export to colour checker and it creates profile.
In some light the profile doesn't change much at all but other situations it is really noticeable, try it on landscapes with your filters on and any cast will be removed :)
