Hi guys, Am in reciept of my brand new yn568exII and am trying to set up and learn off camera flash. The instruction manual is, how shall we say it, confusing? Guessing its a machine translation as get sentences like "Please try to use 1/4 output or lower when rapidly shooting is needed to prevent the effect on the shooting. Anybody used the 60d to control these guys. the book says the 60d is supported. But I can't figure out what I am doing! When I go to flash menu in the 60d it says "this menu cannot be displayed, incompatible flash, or flash's power is turned off." Can I not control it from the camera, I was under the impression that with this flash I would not need a remote trigger (622)?

The flash control is a function of the pop up internal flash. It is something of a complex operation, the 60D manual explains the setup and menu options in detail.

Nice, it was between that and the Lowepro for me.

Good job!

Following the 70D/Fast lens AF problems drama, I decided to check my 60D with the nifty.

In the process I shot this:

forum: The Lounge

and posted it in FB. A friend, who is an antiquities restorer got intrigued seeing a number of ancient Greek motifs all together in one vase, asked me which museum did I shoot this one...

My front entrance! :lol::lol:

Upon further examination, we think that it is a Turkish rendition of what a Greek vase ought to be!...

I think the 70D thing is another blown out of proportion issue...

How many million threads have there been about 7D focus "issues" and such? It is a chronic problem with perfectionist gearheads.

Thanks I haven't had a chance to set it up for my stuff yet but I really like the bag. It's much less conpicuous than my current bag.

I did opt for the lowepro 300. 60D, 24-105L, 100-400L, tokina 11-16,sig 17-50 AND the yonngnuo 568exII ALL FIT (amazingly enuff!) along with a few extras, batteries filter in such like. I will read the canon instructions (again) and see if I can figure out this complicated off camera flash thing. By the time I get off work tho my brain is usually fried for complex instructions. Wish me luck.

I really wish I could find a local place that carries ThinkTank. I want to try out the retro 50 before dropping 250 bucks on it.

Definatly bags are a nightmare when you only see them online, you just can't get a sense of size. I had the retro 20 great bag carries lots but I found it hard to work from and access gear. A mate had the 30 and that was a lot better so I think the 50 will be awesome.
I'm at a trade show next week so I will check one out for you.

I was also surprised with their selection, I don't usually make it to this Camera shop so it had been a while since I had been there. They had a lot of brands, and a large selection of Think Tank.

However, I do not believe they had the 50, I think they had the 40, but I'm not sure, I started with the smaller options and went up, I decided the 30 was big enough for my needs and didn't look at the larger bag, but they only had one option that was larger than the 30.

I also have the Tamrac evolution 8 (external link) which I can fit everything I own in, including a bunch of other items like my laptop, ipad, and tons of electronic cables and chargers. It is a beast that allows me to take everything, but I wanted something less conspicuous and that allows easier access to the contents, the Think Tank should fit the bill for sure.

ESA has apparently won the megapixel war. The Gaia spacecraft has a camera with 940 million pixels. How big could I enlarge a portrait taken with that before I start to lose resolution?
