My first thought was Opel (which I believe is the origin) but that's a Bitter CD.

Yes the winner lol it's bases on a shortened Opel chassis.

thanks. what made that pic one of my fave is that the kid wore the same color as the red wings black bird.

I asked here

https://photography-on-the.net …hp?p=15903335&postcount=1

but I don't see any response.

The issue is that whenever I shoot a very bright object, the red channel gets blown out.

THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. Please log in to see the good quality stuff.

There is plenty of information, I can take the red channel saturation down and icrease slightly the green/blue to maintain color balance.

These are from RAW worked in Darktable (similar to LR).

The question is, can I do something to preserve the red channel in camera?

All other photos come perfectly well balanced in AWB

That's awesome and I didn't notice that and that really does bring the awesomeness up.

I eventually got an answer to my question about super saturated reds.

The monitor cannot display them. The information is there, because I can fully retrieve the details from RAW (yes, I shoot RAW occasionally...). So it is not the sensor that has the problem... It's the display!

I suspect that if we light-meter (verb...) a primary color (RGB or CMY forget K it's black) dominating the photo, the poor light-meter (noun...) thinks it's metering 18% grey... I wish I thought of it while chimping, I could have changed to spot metering and see whether the results changed...
