We did a full review of the WotanCraft Ranger / City Explorer 002 bag (external link) if anyone's interested.

Long and short of it, a really unique bag with top-notch materials and workmanship! This one's a bit on the larger side. Good for travel when you want to take a well-stocked kit around with you.

A small DSLR kit would work great; a body w/lens and two other lenses on either side, for example. Think of this as a shoulder bag version of the Lowe Pro Dryzone series.

Thank you for posting.
I posted a comment in the Billingham thread, regretting not knowing more about this bag. Then your post appeared!

Thank you!

You're quite welcome! Yes, these bags would fit in with the Billingham bags in terms of "luxury" quality, albeit a radically different (WWII era military) style. The killer feature is the waterproof inner bag! Great bags, highly recommended.

There's going to be a review of the Scout (City Explorer 006) in a few weeks - though it's a bit smaller. It would fit, say, a camera w/lens and one other lens.

By nature I seem to be drawn to well padded storage bags that are hard to work from.
Then when working I seem to carry shooter's bags, and work with the camera out, and use the bag as a lens changer.
I don't need to bring the whole photo office with me...

So, although I have a few Think Tank bags (incredible quality), I shoot from Billingham and Domke bags almost all the time. My Billingham bags are the smaller ones...

Is this bag easy to work from when the weather suits? Can you leave the flap unfastened and the liner un-done?

Here's the full review of the Wotancraft Scout (City Explorer 006) bag (external link) for your reading pleasure.

Yes, they are easy to work out of; the inner waterproof liner's flap folds flat behind it, and the soft bag flap(s) are no trouble at all. In the case of the Ranger, there are magnets sewn inside that hold the flap back for easy access.
