Kenko Teleplus MC4 1.4x DGX 4 Element Teleconverter Questions

I have a few questions on this converter. 1st is does anyone know any neat tricks to get the high quality in darker situations or dim lit rooms. I was told that it need good light to be able to magnify long distance and take good pictures, I will be taking it out to test that part out this week. But I am curios on the inside low light tricks and or tips.

why would you be using this inside in low light spots? i mean...do you really need extra reach indoors?

i'm assuming you're putting it on your 70-200f4 IS...if light is dim, skip the TC and just crop a bit, or get closer...

With the teleconverter you loose one stop in aperture. So you need more light. But I agree with Dre... I won't use a teleconverter in indoor - low light situations..... Only outdoor and sunshine... shooting birds or surfers and getting them just a tad closer with my converter.

I've used it at iso 6400 shooting concerts from the sound board with my 70-200 2.8 IS II but that is about the only situation I could think of where I would use it in low light. Even then it wasn't the best choice, but my only choice.

There are no tricks. Just figure out if you can expose properly using proper shutter speeds. You need at least a 1/500 shutter speed at 200mm with your crop body.
