Spoonbill 3-some?

Caught these three Roseate Spoonbills at Lake Martin, LA on Monday. They were making lots of noise and moving around a lot.It looked like maybe two males may have been trying to get the attention of a female. Can an expert explain?
(Please excuse the not-so-good quality. They were quite far away and the shot is heavily cropped.)

Must be Spring. Another instance of birds who don't look like they belong in trees perched in...well... trees.
