Great shot ken.

Thanks Peter - likewise!
Wasn't much of a birder before, but have to say I'm really enjoying the extra reach now from the 300. Can't wait for football season to start up! :)

How do you like the 300? If you ever would like to add more reach you can always add a teleconverters, I would recommend kenko 1.4 dgx series or canon 1.4x II, I don't have Te kenko 1.4x but Has a lot of good reviews.

I see you already have the 1.4x II. Awesome. That thing is always with my 300 even for birds in flight.
I am thinking of adding 25mm extension tube for macro.

Very pleasantly surprised so far Peter. Yes, I do have the EF 1.4xII and have coupled it a few times already - great and impressive additional reach, especially on the crop body. I did notice however, ever so slightly softer results, although it could equally be chalked up to a bit of operator error also. Really notice the IS when it kicks in, as my hands are a tad jittery in holding the long focal lengths steady, so yes, very pleased so far!

Thanks John - there's some great shots being posted here of late.

Didn't realize I had a "2 for 1" shot until I viewed this later in processing...

Nice. I noticed that too but with a good light outside and specially if you are close to the subject we can get away with it. :) I am glad you are please, yeah that IS is really handy.
