Those Ospreys have excellent exposure. Really really nice.

Now what's this "ol' college try" if you don't mind sharing (assuming it's not your secret)..

No secret. :) just an old saying that basically means no matter what the conditions are, or what the outcome might be. You still go out and give your best shot.

What lens was this with, Srika? EXIF says 50mm, so I am guessing the lens somehow isn't reporting it accurately.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

you are right - it is the Opteka 6.5mm fisheye. also branded as Samyang and Rokinon.

Naming of the image file suggests it was stitched. So it's possible it was taken with the 50... :D

or not. :D

the naming of the file can also suggest it consists of 3 exposures :)

I own the 8mm fisheye but haven't got around taking a killer shot like that.
If you don't mind sharing, what are your setting in terms of f stop and focus distance?

Not to beat a dead horse but this shot is crazy good. I would have changed the tone of some of the colors of the foliage just because it reminds me a lot of a Japanese watercolor and the reds would be more pink but that's just personal preference. Absolutely love this shot.
