Angel,

Thanks so much. Don't forget to photograph the historical downtown area.
Let me know if you want any hints.

^^What kind of noise reduction are you applying to your images? Are these a heavy crop? There is something funny about the white feathers in that one as well as the white pelicans shot above. I dont know if it is slightly OOF with sharpening to compensate? I like the composition and exposure but the detail seems odd to me.

Brain Mechanic,

Thanks for your comments. I used a small amount of Topaz Denoise 5 on a non cropped image. Did not need to sharpen the image. It looks horrible on this site. Reminds me of over compression from our friends at FB. Please look at the image on my Flickr account. Link: https://www.flickr.com …@N05/13760720053/sizes/o/ (external link)

Looks really clean IMO. Please let me know what you think.

Have a great day...

You are right....the site is destroying the quality of the image, specially over lightly colored areas. Just around the watermark are a lot of artifacts when compared to the flickr image.

Thanks for prompt response. I posted from my iPad to the site not from my PC or MacBook Pro. My images look much better on Flickr or 500px. Would love to know what monitor you use. Must be a good one.

Thanks for the help.

Im currrently using an Alienware "laptop" but the monitor is calibrated. The compression artifacts are quite evident. Just post directly from flickr or 500px. Such good images deserve it, IMO.
