If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

Would you mind sharing setup on this series?

Sure, this was shot with the 24-70 f/2.8 L at 43mm. My settings were 1/200, f/2.8, at 100 ISO. I used single focus point in AISERVO as the puppies do move around quite a bit.

I used a roll of white seamless paper for the backdrop and floor. For lighting I used my AlienBee b800 strobe with a beauty dish on a stand directly behind me about 5 feet from the puppy. I sat on the floor between the light and the puppy to get a low point of view. I had my kids stand behind me to get the puppies attention. I also used the tennis ball to keep them in the area and to give a reference for size so the viewer could see how big they were in comparison. I had the AB800 power dialed down to 1/4th power as I didn't want to blow out the whites.

I hope that info helped! Check out my site to see more puppy images and when you hover over my images you can see the "i" in the upper right hand corner to see my exif data.

This took a fair amount of work to get it to this stage, they are behind fine wiring. So cute, The Pygmy marmoset is so tiny, The Mum is only about 13cm long, so these little guys on her back were super tiny
taken with Canon 7D and 100-400L lens. ISO 3200 F6.3
