Beautiful shot! Outstanding composition and execution.

Thanks Paul. I have been playing with atypical crops lately...vertical 16:9 is my new compulsion....glad you like it.

Canon says 150,000 is the shutter life on the 7D...I think mine has close to 40K maybe more...and it still runs like a beast....

Yeah I know but I mean which level of total exposures in this price is reasonable?

for $550 US...anything under 50K...that is not much for this body...I think they are still fetching over $700 for the body only here on POTN. Most of them are around $700 with anywhere from less than 5K clicks to well more than that.

A few from the Miramar Air Show is San Diego

Nice job. I'm hoping to be able to get some similar shots in March, when they come here. I'm looking forward to the show. I had a blast shooting the Thunderbirds when they were here recently.

I've reserved a 7D in store. Complete and in mint condition. The store Will check the total exposures before I buy. How many exposures are resonable in this situation? The price is 550USD with 6 month guarantee

That's a good price, especially for a store and a 6 month guarantee.

That is a great purchase. The 7D will compliment the 6D in a lot of great ways. The 6D is the low light champion of the two when light is not available, but the 7D will be the champion outdoors wildlife and sports. The two cameras work together very well.

I think it will be a good mix to me :) I'll maybe buy the 70-200/4L cheap for the 7D :)

that is the pairing I am working on compiling...the 5DII is off to Canon for a physical...and after it gets back is going to find a new home...replaced by a 6D.

7D + 6D = win!

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

It has worked for me. 6D for pretty much all general purpose use. 7D comes out when I go birding (I don't shoot sports).
