As I have said to Peter, I'm encountering some serious noise in the shadows with the 7D2 but I guess that's down to my technique until I come to grips with birding. The autofocus is amazing and the lens is almost as good at both ends as it is stopped down and my keeper rate is far higher even with the 1.4 extender.
