I have completed a renovation of my main website. It's a pretty substantial change from the old site. The address is: www.myrsphoto.com (external link). I would like to invite everyone to visit, look around, check for errors (seems there are always a few), and comment here. If you have any problem viewing the site, I would really like to know that.

In trying to integrate 3 sites (Myrsphoto, ShootProof, and FAA), I have moved to a lighter background. Your opinions of that are valued.

Thanks to everyone who takes the time to look.

None of your photos are showing up except the thumbnail for the "Fine Arts Galleries"

Also, what's the "login | Register" in the top right corner for?

Your main page has landscape photos but you don't have a landscape tab. What are you trying to specialize in or are you specializing in everything?

When my mouse hovers over the image of the bride ( http://www.myrsphoto.com/newsite/?q=node/1 (external link) ) the image changes and your copy jumps up... If this was intentional I would get rid of it. Some of your images take a while to load - replace them with more compressed versions (60% quality would do the trick) and also size them to exactly how you want them to be previewed.

Personally I would remove the drop shadow on your logo, lose the 'read more' on the home page and just have all the copy there for us to read - possibly shorten the copy a bit too :)

You could add an interactive slideshow gallery tot he homepage so people can have a quick flick through some of your images?

"Tree in the Rocks - Richard Smith" has a confusing "square" option to view full size, but even with my cable connection it just hangs up. The same thing happened with "Alaskan Forest Floor - Richard Smith", so it seems to be a site glitch.

"Musical Groups" only has one image, so maybe it should be the singular "Musical Group", unless you're going to add more. It's an orchestra, too. How many are in your area? If you're looking to also shoot bands, then you need some examples of work with them.

Why are your wedding galleries hosted on your music site? Also, once you click on the gallery, it starts playing the slides automatically. I don't like that, as maybe I only want an overview of the pictures you took, or I don't want to view all of them. Another thing is that it was very hard for me to navigate back to your original site once those slides started. The "back" button doesn't take you back unless you click it multiple times.

The Fine Arts page is hosted by Fine Arts America. I just link to their site. There are few options there and I'm not happy with the full size routine either. I can't control it.

That is a band. It is a regional honor band that I have photographed yearly for about 20 years. That page is really directed at band and orchestra directors.

Thank you for looking and taking time to comment. I appreciate it very much.

There is a problem with the link in from the wedding galleries. I think I'm going to have to go back and upload the whole thing again to correct it. I have wondered if I should set the wedding galleries to play as a slide show or leave that to the viewer. Maybe some others will chime in. It's easy to change.

Thanks so much for your comments.

Thanks to everyone for your comments and observations. I have now taken out all of the mouse over effects on the wedding and reunion pages so they match the other pages in the way they work. The wedding page no longer has that disconcerting re-format because the photo does not change. I have corrected the home links on the wedding galleries (that error took a while to find) and have made the slideshow optional.

I might try to add some music to the wedding gallery slideshows ONLY. I do not like music that plays in the background on websites but I wonder if it might not be a better presentation of the wedding slideshows. Your comments are appreciated.

The opening photo banner will have a couple of wedding (and maybe one reunion) photo added as soon as I learn how to make the photos cycle through faster. I don't want it to be too long but would like it to be a bit more representative of all my work.

Thanks again. Your help is greatly appreciated.
