Canon DSLR Speed Challenge #277 - Style Magazine Advertisement

A New York based publication has asked you to supply a photograph of a product that suits their glitzy magazine and well-heeled readership. The magazine content caters to lavish lifestyles and fashion, as you would likely see in a contemporary urban settling. Everything in your image has to be produced by yourself, by your camera, and during the image editing process. There is no copying/pasting from other sources. Your entry has to be original, visually stunning, and grab potential consumers. Subject matter can be related to fashion, food, lifestyle, or interior design, as this is an advertisement. Your image must have a title, or I'll (as will you) be lost without one. I would prefer seeing the title embedded within the image, but will accept it within the subject field of this forum. Don't forget your EXIF too!

This challenge begins when posted and ends Noon Tuesday March 26th, 2013 Central Standard Time The winner will be announced shortly after.

2. Time - please note the date restriction described in the challenge description
3. Size - Please visit Image Posting Rules.
4. Post-Processing - do whatever you like and the host will decide if it works.
5. Posting - * ONE PHOTO per photographer in each challenge.* Photo Name in the message subject line.* Camera model & lens used.* Notes -- post brief EXIF data including ISO, shutter speed and aperture used.
6. Commenting - No commenting during challenge. When the posting is closed and a winner has been declared, comments can be made in this thread.
7. Keep it clean, and both Family and Work safe.

Yikes! I called the magazine editor and broke the bad news that our advertising revenue was going to be a bit short for this week's payroll. Gulp!

So without further ado, here's my decision for this week's challenge:

Jean-Guy, your entry is wonderful and no doubt would hook potential customers to explore a cruise that would chase the sun. I did see though that this image has won in a previous challenge and so...I thank you for participating, but I'm going to give others the opportunity to win on an image that hasn't yet placed.

MrGman, I love your sexy-saxy, fine line, DOF image. It gives viewers a challenge, to determine what they're looking at, and your title offers the hint. I like all that you did (Though I wish I knew where and when?) Still, I could see this image making the cut, and added to such a magazine as I described. You, MrGman, are our winner this week.

Maureen, had you only caught the bow of the ship in the frame, you might have out-jazzed MrGman. The setting of this scene is spectacular, but I'm sure your client would have preferred showing the better aspects of their vessel. That said, I bet the Alaskan tourist board would be pleased to see that their coastline put on one of its prettiest smiles. Wow!

I knew I should have added that breaching whale next to the ship but I couldn't quite get the water color to match up so I gave up.

Congrats to Gman; loved the entry. Too bad more people didn't play. Thanks Kevan; i had fun looking through a lot of my vacation photos again.

Thanks, Gail. Do you have Photoshop? There should be a "T" in your toolbox and if you click it, a text box will pop on to your photo and just pick a font and type.
